Peaches Regal Festival Hall

Peaches Regal Festival Hall
The Peaches experience can be a cross between art installation, burlesque night and circus, using the
Canadian singer, born Merrill Nisker, as ringmaster and main attraction. It's very far taken from the typical rock gig that she solicitously asks whether anyone is "having their first Peaches show tonight". Every time a not enough people squeal affirmatively, she counsels: "Don't be afraid". She could possibly be confrontational and swear like a rapper, plus some of her music is pretty hideous, however, there is not forget of.
Of course, people who find themselves in her path when she hops offstage and charges through the audience, growling into stunned faces, might feel differently. But even they'd must admit that, planned, Peaches is a benevolent force. She's intent on her self-imposed task of forcing her public to question their beliefs about sex and sexuality. When she urges the men in the home to Shake Yer Dix inside song of that name, it's in an emancipatory spirit, knowning that also applies to her wearing a catsuit whose crotch illuminates each time she sings the title of her best-known number, Fuck this Away.
Besides a roaring duet with her keyboardist on Kick It, the songs - staccato electronic beats inside first half, awful, grinding heavy metal and rock within the second, and Peaches chanting inside a girlish monotone throughout - is of secondary importance. A lot of things would be the message and the striking visuals. Peaches changes from fringed gauntlets to latex clothing catsuit to silver robes; she levitates over the stage; during Consult Me, from new album I Feel Cream, she's between dancers dressed as lampshades. It's Madonna with limited funds, but a lot more fun - and enlightening - than Madonna opportunity be.
